The Challenge
The COVID-19 pandemic created unprecedented logistical challenges and component shortages, making it difficult for many vendors to fulfill large device orders. At the same time, there was an urgent need to support the country’s migration from 2G to 4G networks
The Solution
Astro Mobile secured a significant order from Vodacom Mozambique for *200,000 entry-level smartphones*. These devices, co-branded as the “Smart1” and “Smart2” models, were 4G-enabled, directly supporting Vodacom’s network migration strategy. Despite immense logistical and supply chain hurdles during the pandemic, Astro Mobile’s operational resilience and commitment to its partners ensured that the entire order was eventually fulfilled.
